HARTMANN STUDENT TRAVEL GRANTS FOR ITHACA DPS MEETING

Applications for Hartmann Student Travel Grants to the Ithaca DPS
meeting will be due August 1, 2008.  Full details will be forthcoming
shortly via the DPS web page http://dps.aas.org, probably before
Monday 21st July.

Travel grants are primarily intended for students, but post-doctoral
scientists without other means of support will also be
considered. Travel grants rarely exceed a few hundred dollars and are
intended to provide a supplement that makes the difference on whether
or not a student is able to attend the annual meeting.  In some cases
the travel grant may be requested to cover the meeting registration
fee.  Preference is given to students who have not received a Travel
Grant in the past.

The travel grant application requires the student to make a specific
request for the amount needed and what that amount is intended to
cover.  Also required is a letter from the student's advisor stating
that all other sources of funding are exhausted and that the student's
ability to attend is contingent upon receipt of a Hartmann Student
Travel Grant.  Full details are forthcoming via the DPS web page.
