2004 DPS PRIZES
Congratulations to the recipients of the 2004 DPS prizes!
These awards will be formally presented at the Louisville
meeting in November 2004.
Jean-Luc Margot - 2004 Harold C. Urey Prize recipient, in
recognition for his work in observational astronomy, which has
advanced our understanding of binary asteroids and the spin
states of the terrestrial planets.
Carle M. Pieters - 2004 Gerard P. Kuiper Prize recipient,
recognized for being a pioneer and principal driving force
in the field of planetary remote sensing.
Alexander T. Basilevsky - 2004 Harold Masursky Award recipient,
in recognition of substantial service contributions to the
planetary science communities of Russia, the United States,
and Western Europe throughout his long career.
David Morrison - 2004 Carl Sagan Medal recipient, recognized
for his outstanding communication about planetary science
to the general public in his writing, slide collections,
and public speaking.
