PLANETARY ATMOSPHERES DUE DATE CHANGED
The due date for proposals to the Planetary Atmospheres element of
ROSS04 is being changed from Fri., April 23, 2004 to Friday, May 21,
2004, by means of an official amendment to the ROSS04. This change
will allow unsuccessful proposers to ROSS03 to receive and act upon
their evaluations from the ROSS03 review process. Unsuccessful
proposers to ROSS03 and those planned for one year of support have
already been notified. All proposers to ROSS03 will receive their
official notifications and reviews shortly.

OUTER PLANET RESEARCH FUNDS AVAILABLE
We would like to remind the Planetary Science Community that $5 million
of new research grant funding is available for outer planet research in
2004. The Notice of Intent date has past but response to the NOI is
desired but not required. The proposal deadline is 30 April 2004. The
charter for this program as described in the ROSS-2004 document
(http://research.hq.nasa.gov/code_s/open.cfm) has a very wide scope.
For years we have all been complaining about the lack of R&A funding.
NASA HQ has responded, so let's make sure they get excellent proposals.
If we fail to respond, there won't be similar new programs in other
targeted areas in the future.
