GREETINGS FROM NEW NASA PLANETARY ATMOSPHERES DISCIPLINE SCIENTIST
Dear Colleagues,
I succeeded John Hillman as Discipline Scientist for the Planetary
Atmospheres Program in April 2003. I have previously served two terms
in this role in 1995-97 and 99-01. It is a pleasure to be again
involved in the program and to be associated with so many respected
scientists and friends. In addition to Planetary Atmospheres I have a
number of mission assignments at NASA. I look forward to the broad
involvement at the grass roots level and the synergy and energy of
being once again in the R & A program.
Sincerely,
Denis Bogan

HST - JWST TRANSITION REVIEW
The NASA Office of Space Science has chartered a blue ribbon panel,
chaired by John Bahcall, to evaluate the plans to terminate Hubble
Space Telescope operations at the end of its mission (currently planned
for 2010) and transition to operations of the James Webb Space
Telescope. Written comments and suggestions on the issues should be
submitted as soon as possible to the web site
http://hst-jwst-transition.hq.nasa.gov/
The closing date for accepting comments is September 1, 2003. The web
site contains the panel roster, charter of the panel and dates of the
meetings, including a one day meeting open to the public.
