EXTENDED ABSTRACT DEADLINE

Due to Internet outages, the DPS abstract deadline is extended to Noon
EDT, tomorrow, September 25. We ask that if you are able to access the
web site that you submit your abstract by the regular deadline, 9:00 PM
EDT tonight. We are not prepared to handle all abstracts at the last
minute, but in fairness to those who simply cannot get to the web site,
we are offering as much accomodation as we can. The URL for direct
submission of your abstract, avoiding as many intermediate routers as
possible, is http://abstracts.aas.org/dps01/.

This link can also be found on the DPS home page: http://www.aas.org/~dps/.

SPECIAL SESSION ON CASSINI/GALILEO JOINT ENCOUNTER

The Special Session on the December 2000 joint Cassini/Galileo
encounter with Jupiter has been extended to cover subsequent Galileo
satellite encounters as well.

On Tuesday morning, a plenary session of invited talks will provide
overviews of the encounter, Jupiter's atmospheric dynamics, auroral and
magnetospheric phenomena, and satellite science. DPS members may wish
to contribute to the parallel session on the encounter that follows.
Submissions to the traditional outer planets and satellite sessions
will, of course, also be accepted.

SPECIAL SESSION ON DEEP SPACE 1 ENCOUNTER WITH COMET BORRELLY

A special DPS session on the successful Sept. 22 encounter has been
organized. There will be a few invited talks (on a day TBD), followed
by a contributed oral session. Those wishing to submit to the
contributed session should check a regular comet session on the web
form, but write Borrelly Session on the special instructions line.
