DPS ABSTRACT DEADLINE: MONDAY JULY 19TH

The annual DPS meeting will be held October 3rd-8th in Pasadena, CA. 
See http://dps.aas.org/meetings/2010/ for details.

The regular abstract deadline will be at 9pm EDT on Monday July 19th,
with late abstracts due by September 1st.

One contributed planetary presentation per person is allowed. History
or Education talks or posters, and invited talks, are allowed in
addition.

Non-members may only present one time at a DPS Meeting, and
must have a DPS member sponsor their presentation. Non-members must
enter the sponsor's name before accessing the abstract form. The
sponsor will be notified.

Abstracts must be submitted through the presenting author's AAS

DPS MEETING EARLY REGISTRATION DEADLINE: FRIDAY JULY 23RD

The early registration deadline is Friday, 23 July 2010. Registration
rates will increase significantly if you register after this date.

When you register, please consider a $25 contribution to the Carbon
Neutrality fund, which will be used to purchase renewable energy
capacity to offset the carbon footprint of your travel to the meeting,
and a contribution to the Hartmann Travel Grant program to enable
students to attend future meetings.

DPS MEETING OBSERVATORY TOURS

Mount Wilson and Palomar Observatory Tours are now available in the
online registration system. If you already completed your
registration, please fax a copy of the registration form to
202-234-7850 to have the tours added to your registration.

DPS ELECTION CLOSES JULY 31st

Polls are open till July 31st for the annual election of DPS officers,
who will take up their duties at the 2010 DPS meeting. Please cast
your ballot at http://aas.org/vote You will need your membership
number and password in order to cast your vote.

We need to elect ONE person for the position of Vice-Chair, who will
become DPS Chair at the 2011 DPS meeting. The current Vice-Chair, and
2010-2011 Chair, is Melissa McGrath.

The Vice-Chair candidates are:
* Daniel Britt, University of Central Florida
* Torrence Johnson, JPL

We also need to elect TWO people to the DPS committee, where they will
serve for three years. They will join the four 2010-2011 continuing
members, Anne Verbiscer, Joshua Colwell, Jason Barnes, and Leslie
Young.

The committee candidates are:
* Dale Cruikshank, NASA Ames Research Center
* Andy Rivkin, Applied Physics Laboratory
* Andrew Steffl, Southwest Research Institute
* Elizabeth (Zibi) Turtle, Applied Physics Laboratory

DPS SURVEY CLOSES JULY 31ST

If you haven't yet filled out the DPS Survey, please do so before July
31st. If your membership was up-to-date in mid June you should have
already received an e-mail from dpsweb@aas.org on or about June 28th, for
your personal login instructions.

If you renewed your membership since mid June, you should receive the
survey e-mail shortly.
